We are a small family owned and operated nursery and organic garden business established in 1981. During our first 25 years in business we grew from a small 20' x 50' greenhouse to a full service garden center with 8 greenhouses and a large market garden.
Recently we have turned a lifelong interest in native plants and the restoration of natural environments into a unique series of bioregional demonstration gardens. Ten habitats feature over three hundred plant species for water, bog, rock and woodland gardens. We now offer for sale a selection of these for the home landscape as well as environmental restoration use.
What is a native plant? Quite simply, they are plants that have evolved here in the Ottawa Valley and were present pre-European contact. Many plants described as "native plants" or "wildflowers" are native only to another area of the country or continent. Not only are all our native plants actually native to here, all of our seed stock originates within 100 miles of our nursery.
